Junior Golf

Hartfield aims to provide quality coaching programs for Juniors aged 9 to 16 years old who are interested in golf. These programs are designed to provide children with the opportunity to have fun, improve their golf and technique, build friendships, and introduce them to competitive golf.

Perhaps they have seen the game on television and been inspired by Cameron Smith triumph or perhaps mum or dad are already a member, and they want to give it a go for themselves. Golf, after all is the perfect family sport and the handicap system means everyone can be competitive on any given day whatever the actual level of their ability.

Most forward-thinking clubs will appreciate that juniors are the lifeblood of our sport and hartfield is no different. If nurtured and given support, juniors are the potential core membership of the future and without them ultimately there would be no club.

The club has a proven track record over the years producing good young golfers, and one of our best, Scott Strange, visits the club regularly. Scott came through the junior ranks at Hartfield before turning professional and has gone on to be a two-time winner on the European Tour. He is the perfect role model and inspiration for any aspiring young golfer.

There are many reasons why Hartfield should be an appealing club for junior golfers.

  • The practice facilities are excellent, perfect for someone looking to learn the basics of the game without the feeling that many beginner golfers get the world over when they take to the course – that they are inconveniencing the more experienced players.
  • Our members are a friendly, accommodating bunch anyway and welcome new faces no matter what their age. Anyone coming to Hartfield will quickly be made to feel part of the club.
  • Membership rates are very attractive for the younger members and will not break the bank.

Youngsters can learn so much from golf. As well as being a hugely enjoyable (and at times, hugely frustrating!) sport, it teaches so many life skills such as common courtesy, good manners and playing by rules.

Many adult golfers coming to the game later in life, perhaps on retirement, find learning the skills necessary to play well a bit of a struggle. Kids, however, have no fear, and take up the game as a junior and you will pick up the skills required for a lifetime of good golf.
